Reclaim and Embrace YOURSELF

Time to Re-educate and Re-claim ourselves!

Did you know that every time you give some of your strength away, it needs to be replaced or replenished as quickly as possible?  This is why athletes and those who are serious about staying physically fit often consume Power Aide or some kind of protein drink after an intense workout.   In the Christian faith, after a minister/bishop has taken time to lay hands on congregants, it is customary in more charismatic churches for another minister to lay hands on that person and pray for their ‘virtue’ (a.k.a. essence, energy or strength) to be restored.  It is also customary for a pastor to withdraw from congregants immediately to change clothing, reflect and renew after a powerful prayer service.

Some Native Americans believe in ‘calling back’ your spirit from past hurts and/or negative situations and people.  In certain instances, under the direct guidance of an elder/chief/spiritual leader or medical doctor a person is physically taken back to the place where the actual harmful event took place to literally ‘call’ back their spirit.  This powerful practice is often necessary for the patient/victim to take power over a situation in which they may have felt quite powerless at the time.

Very recently, I became the subject of a public attack on my character.  Now, you would think I would have immediately put the situation into perspective, considered the source and told this disrespectful, destructive grown-ass child where to get off!!  Oh no, I couldn’t do that, instead I talked, talked, talked and TALKED to all of my friends about it and if I wasn’t talking about it, I was thinking about it.  During all this lip service, I’d completely forgotten that with every thought and word, I was feeding a ridiculous situation purposely hatched by an ignorant fool who meant me nothing but pain.  By last Sunday evening, it seemed as though I would never escape it, no matter what.  In addition to feeling trapped, I was also drained, feeling ill, had a headache that lasted at least 3 days.  Through this mess, I’ve realized that I have no clue how people carry grudges for years and years and I am glad I am not wired that way.  My Mama taught me by word and example that it’s better to just curse the individual out and be done with it than to carry it around with you, she always said “the only thing you should nurse is an infant or a good stiff drink”.  Oh yeah, my Mama is ALL THAT, but I digress.

We must realize that we are precious beings, created for a purpose and not just here by accident, we are full of energy and light for a purpose higher than ourselves.  The problem is, most of us don’t realize our greatness and useful purpose because if we did, we would not be so reckless with our bodies, minds and spirits. Everywhere we go, every person we encounter, we leave a deposit there that is positive or negative, helpful or harmful, loving or hateful, uplifting or destructive and disrespectful.

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I was raised in a Christian household were attending church regularly, self respect, respect for your elders, family members and peers  was non-negotiable.  I love and respect my upbringing so much that I raised my children the same way.  Unfortunately, I grew up thinking that others families, particularly church goers were all functioning the same way we did.  Of course I understood that we were not perfect, but my expectations of the behaviors of my fellow ‘brothers and sisters in Christ’ were extremely high.  As I have gotten older and wiser, my interests have expanded in such a way that I have no desire to waste my time and essence on those who will not take responsibility for their actions.  “The Devil made me do it” may have been a humorous punch line back in the 70’s on The Flip Wilson Show and Good Times, but in all actuality, it’s a very reckless way to live.

So, my advice to all my readers is, meditate on your own self worth, link up with people who will commit to lifting you up and not tearing you down.  Completely disconnect from negativity of any kind, block your social media page, email addresses, cell phones from ignorant-ass people and purposely make yourself unavailable for foolishness.  The predator who hunted me has been blocked from every aspect of my life because I have no use for people who operate like a locust, using and abusing all of those in their path.

Once you had done your outward work, it’s time to begin the process of healing from the inside. Take time to catalog hurtful memories in a journal to empty your soul, which is your main memory bank holding all of the positive and negative experiences, feelings and images that have taken place through all of your lifetimes.  Find the most peaceful spot you can and cry out to the great universe!!  Your Father, the great Creator as well as your Mother, the earth is waiting on you to release that bad energy from your psyche.  With every bad memory, there is an image attached to it that resides in your mind as long as you allow.  As you begin to release those pains one by one, the images will surface – don’t retreat from them, face them, tell them you are not afraid, curse them out if you feel the need.  The point is to say whatever you need to say to take power over that situation – whatever you wish you could have said at the time.  But above all else CALL BACK your spiritual deposit from that situation, reclaim your strength/energy/essence and tell that person, place or thing that he/she/it is NOT worthy of your energy.  This is a very emotional experience that really should be done alone – but if you are afraid it’s just too much, find someone you know you can trust to go to that place with you.  However, I must caution you that not everyone is worthy of sharing your time and space like this.  Think of it this way, if you were going into surgery, you wouldn’t want a doctor performing the surgery who you knew didn’t care whether you lived or died.  Your spiritual health and well being is as important, if not more, than your physical health and well being.  Peace in the spirit gives birth to a peaceful mind and mental peace is PRICELESS!!

Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse for your own personal health and well-being and you will be thankful that you did.

I, myself have done this many times and I am thankful and ever grateful to have listened to instructions coming from my own soul.

Peace and Light!!!!
