Well, my friend from Lagos, Africa sent a Facebook message to me asking "Have you been writing lately?" CRAP!! I hated having to tell him that I hadn't been - but since he checks my blog frequently, there wasn't a reason for me to lie. He's one of those friends who won't accept me NOT doing something that I truly love doing. So, because he understands that side of me, he's always up to a little cyber-bullying. hahahaah!!
Writing, singing, dancing and listening to music is like breathing for me. If I don't do it for a while, I start to feel like I am going crazy - if I go too long, I really start to feel physically ill. Here lately, I've let the activities and challenges of day-to-day life derail my creative vibe. However, thank GOD for my musical gifts - they have all conspired together to keep me grounded, centered and free. In the midst of everything else going on in my life, I've been asked repeatedly to lead worship at church during out Midweek Services - now there's a curve-ball for ya. Here I stand, in front of a room full of people, most of which just got off from work (like me). They are tired, probably haven't eaten, it's the middle of the week and they are looking at me to take them somewhere AWAY from their everyday selves to a place of worship. But, before I can take anybody anywhere, I have to first go there myself. DARN IT!!
Put a pause right there:
What would you do if you called one of your friends for a ride and when they arrived to pick you up, you notice that their car is already on E? Further, when they pull off, you quickly come to the conclusion that they have no intentions on stopping and getting any gas. How long would it take for you to say something? I don't know about you, but for me........about 8 seconds!! Some people live there lives in a constant state of being 'too busy driving to stop and get gas'.
Are you in touch with your outlet, or your power source? Its different for each of us. For me, its anything creative. Liturgical dance, writing, singing, sitting still and listening to some soul music - all those things help me detox while feeding me from the inside out. Like everyone, I don't do it nearly enough, so every now and then, I take to my little corner of the universe for a little cyber-confession. Why? So someone else can see it and know that they are OK too.
Everyone needs something healthy that they can do to keep sane, ward off stress and detox from the negative energy that swirls around us 24/7. It can be anything productive..... cleaning, cooking, meditation, prayer, exercise, etc. Anything, anything at all that you can do to clean your inner-house and re-energize, as long as it doesn't involve indulging in harmful activities (substance abuse, overeating, pointless sexual encounters, etc.) is what you should be doing on a daily basis for the sake of your mental and spiritual health.
Peace LOVIES!!
PS: Someone asked me yesterday how long I had my locs and I couldn't remember. HAHAHA!! My locs are such a part of me that I don't even keep a count - I just love them daily and keep on moving. I guess I better look back into my earlier posts and find out how old my locs are!!

AGAIN!!
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again while expecting a different result. The time has come once again to make some real changes in my life. I love myself, my life, my body, my hair, my skin, everything about ME I love!! Life has been very good to me, any mistakes and shortcomings are completely my own. So, do I wallow in my own grief, my mistakes, current status........hell NO! Why?? I'm simply not wired that way. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more than to take an entire day and treat myself to a fantastic pity party. But, I can't because my inner-me won't let me. THANK GOD it won't let me!!
However, I long for clear direction and guidance during my 'time wandering in the wilderness'.
Peace Lovies!!
